What it is

The DeWalt DT90248-QZ Extreme step drill bit is a compact, versatile tool that allows drilling at different diameters with a single piece, up to a maximum size of 20 mm in progressive steps. The titanium-finish head promotes smooth drilling, while the round shank makes it compatible with a wide range of drills. Supplied in a one-piece pack.

Drill bits include individual bits and assorted sets for drilling metal, wood and masonry, including step drills and SDS-Plus bits.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Choose the bit suited to the material: HSS or cobalt for metal, brad-point bit for wood, carbide-tipped with hammer action for masonry. Fit it securely, drill in line with the speed set for the diameter, and withdraw it frequently to clear the chips. Use step drills on thin sheet metal, advancing to the step of the required diameter.
