What it is

The DeWalt DWHT34218-0 long tape measure is a long-distance measuring tool with a 30 m fibreglass tape, a blade width of 12.7 mm and a high-visibility yellow finish. It belongs to accuracy class II, with a bi-material case and an open frame for easy rewinding; the tape is secured with 25 rivets and the whole tool, 19 cm long and 5 cm high, weighs 677 g. The fibreglass tape is particularly suitable where a lightweight, non-conductive tool is required.

Distance measuring tools include tape measures, long surveyor's tapes, measuring wheels, calipers, feeler gauges and ranging poles for measuring lengths, thicknesses and distances on site and in the workshop.

How to use it

Choose the tool according to the measurement: tape measure or long tape for lengths, measuring wheel for long distances, caliper, micrometer or feeler gauge for thicknesses and diameters. Place the zero exactly on the starting point, keep the tape taut and straight and read perpendicular to the scale. Clean and dry the instrument after use and protect calipers and micrometers from knocks.
