What it is

The DeWalt DWMT74737-0 set comprises 7 impact sockets with a 1/2'' drive, designed for use with impact drivers and impact tools thanks to the impact-rated nature of the sockets. The 1/2'' drive can transmit high torque, making the set suited to jobs that call for strength and durability.

Impact sockets are reinforced sockets for use with impact wrenches, together with extensions, universal joints and adapters that fit the tool's square drive.

What it is for

Used for repetitive screwdriving into wood, metal and plasterboard, where torque and consistency matter, for vehicle maintenance, in the workshop and on the road and for tightening nuts and bolts where torque must be accurate and repeatable.

How to use it

Choose a socket of the exact size of the nut and with the same square drive as the impact wrench, or use an adapter. Push it on until the detent ball or retaining ring clicks home, adding an extension or universal joint only if needed to reach the nut. On impact tools, use only impact-rated sockets and accessories, as chrome hand sockets can shatter. Discard sockets with a worn-oval or cracked opening.
