What it is

Clamps and ties are tightening collars, metal worm-drive or plastic ratchet types, that grip hoses, sleeves or cables to secure them to fittings and supports.

What it is for

Used for general-purpose fixing into masonry, concrete and timber and for installing stoves and flues.

How to use it

Choose a clamp with a clamping range suited to the diameter to be secured. Slide the worm-drive clamp onto the hose, position it on the hose tail beyond the barb and tighten it with a screwdriver or spanner without cutting into the rubber; cut worm-drive band sold by the metre to length and close it with its screw. Close plastic cable ties by pulling the tail and trim the excess flush.
