Grindflex Classic flap disc Fervi DF4100.212

What it is

The Fervi DF4100.212 Grindflex Classic flap disc is made with a corundum abrasive on a fibreglass backing, for grinding and finishing metal surfaces. Corundum is a versatile, reliable abrasive, suited to a wide range of work on steel, iron and alloys, while the flap structure ensures progressive abrasion that continually exposes new grain, for uniform output until the disc is used up. The fibreglass backing gives strength and safety in rotation.

A flap disc is an abrasive made of overlapping cloth flaps, on a disc for angle grinders or on a shank for straight grinders, that roughs down and finishes metal and wood.

What it is for

Used for sanding metal, from roughing to finishing, for deburring metal after cutting and drilling and for grinding and cleaning up weld seams and burrs.

How to use it

Fit the disc on the angle grinder, or insert the shank-mounted flap wheel in the collet of the straight grinder or drill, observing the maximum speed. Work with light pressure at a slight angle, keeping the tool moving so as not to overheat or mark the workpiece. Progress from coarse to fine grits for finishing, and replace the disc when the cloth is worn down to the backing.
