What it is

The Fervi DF8150.212 professional classic flap disc is an industrial abrasive with corundum flaps and a fibreglass backing, a combination that joins good cutting ability with a robust structure. The working angle of 15-25° makes it suitable for work on inclined surfaces and fillets, optimising the contact between abrasive and workpiece.

A flap disc is an abrasive made of overlapping cloth flaps, on a disc for angle grinders or on a shank for straight grinders, that roughs down and finishes metal and wood.

What it is for

Used for sanding metal, from roughing to finishing, for deburring metal after cutting and drilling and for grinding and cleaning up weld seams and burrs.

How to use it

Fit the disc on the angle grinder, or insert the shank-mounted flap wheel in the collet of the straight grinder or drill, observing the maximum speed. Work with light pressure at a slight angle, keeping the tool moving so as not to overheat or mark the workpiece. Progress from coarse to fine grits for finishing, and replace the disc when the cloth is worn down to the backing.
