Specialty Alu Classic flap disc Fervi DF9103.512

What it is

The DF9103.512 by Fervi is a flap disc from the Specialty Alu Classic line for angle grinders, 115 mm with a 22 mm bore. This code has grit 40, the coarsest in the series, which continues with grits 60, 80 and 120 and is also available in the 125 mm diameter. It withstands up to 13,300 rpm and works at an angle of 0-15° to the workpiece, in other words held almost flat. It is sold in a pack of 10 pieces.

A flap disc is an abrasive made of overlapping cloth flaps, on a disc for angle grinders or on a shank for straight grinders, that roughs down and finishes metal and wood.

What it is for

Used for sanding metal, from roughing to finishing, for deburring metal after cutting and drilling and for grinding and cleaning up weld seams and burrs.

How to use it

Fit the disc on the angle grinder, or insert the shank-mounted flap wheel in the collet of the straight grinder or drill, observing the maximum speed. Work with light pressure at a slight angle, keeping the tool moving so as not to overheat or mark the workpiece. Progress from coarse to fine grits for finishing, and replace the disc when the cloth is worn down to the backing.
