What it is

The Fervi ST1A01.75 is a small-diameter straight-shank twist drill bit, Ø 1.75 mm, intended for fine, accurate drilling of metals. The 118° point angle promotes good centring and consistent results in general machining, while a hardness of 700-740 HV ensures wear resistance on a slender tool. Made to DIN 338, it is certified Italian-made and complies with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, with CE marking.

A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
