What it is

The Fervi ST1A16.00R10 straight-shank twist drill bit is a cutting tool designed for precision drilling in metals. It has a Ø 16.00 mm working diameter combined with a reduced Ø 10 mm shank, a solution that allows large-diameter bits to be used in smaller-capacity chucks. The 118° point angle makes it particularly suitable for drilling steels and the metallic materials commonly found in the workshop.

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
