What it is
The Fervi P023/03.10 straight shank twist drill bit offers a diameter of Ø 3.1 mm and is built to DIN 338, with a 135° ground point and a hardness of 770-830 HV. These features make it a stable, durable drilling tool, with a straight shank compatible with standard chucks. The drill bit meets Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and carries the CE marking.
A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.
What it is for
Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.
How to use it
Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
