What it is

The Fervi P023/11.00 straight-shank twist drill bit is a cutting tool designed for precision drilling with a diameter of Ø 11.00 mm. Built to DIN 338, it has a 135° point angle, a geometry that promotes an immediate start on the material and good chip evacuation along the helical flute. The straight shank allows it to be fitted in the standard chucks of bench and hand-held drills.

A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
