What it is

The arbor, or shank, is the rod with a machine fitting (SDS-Plus, SDS-Max, hexagonal or cylindrical) onto which the masonry core bit or hole saw is screwed. It carries the pilot drill bit at the centre.

How to use it

Choose the arbor suited to the machine fitting and the thread of the core bit, screw the core bit on fully, fit the pilot drill bit and insert it in the chuck. Check that it is firmly tightened before starting. Keep the thread clean of dust and residue.
