SPIT
885 products
SPIT is a brand specialising in professional fixing for construction: anchors for concrete and masonry, powder-actuated systems and chemical anchoring products. The collection brings together the SPIT products in the AMES catalogue.
What you will find in the collection
- Concrete screws, such as the Tapcon series, for fixing directly into the substrate without a plug.
- Cartridges and consumables for powder-actuated fastening tools.
- Dispensing guns for chemical anchor cartridges, including pneumatic ones.
- Accessories and spare parts for SPIT fixing systems.
How to choose
The right fixing depends on the substrate (concrete, solid or hollow masonry, steel), the load to be supported and the installation conditions. Before ordering, it is worth checking the base material and the anchorage diameter and length required, and making sure that cartridges and tools are compatible with each other.
If you are not sure which product is suitable, describe the job to AMES: we will prepare a quotation with the correct fixings for your site.

Frequently asked questions: SPIT
Which Tapcon concrete screw should I choose for fixing into concrete?
Tapcon concrete screws are driven directly into the substrate without an anchor, and come with different heads: PAN, CSK countersunk head, HFL hex flange head and ROD for threaded rods. Choose the head according to the fixing: countersunk for a flush result, hex for tightening with a spanner. Always check the hole diameter given in the datasheet.
What is the difference between an expansion anchor, a chemical anchor and a concrete screw?
The expansion anchor and the concrete screw work by friction or mechanical grip on the substrate. The chemical anchor, such as the Viper Xtrem, uses a resin that bonds to the hole and is often chosen for heavier loads or for precise distances and depths. The type should be chosen according to the substrate material, the expected load and the distance from edges.
Which SPIT anchors are suitable for cracked concrete?
Before choosing an anchor, check the product's datasheet and its European Technical Assessment (ETA), which states for which substrates and conditions it is approved. Cracked concrete requires products with specific suitability, different from that for uncracked concrete. Do not use an anchor for an application that does not appear in its assessment.
How do you safely use a cartridge gun for chemical anchors?
Remove the cap, insert the cartridge into the gun and discharge the first squeeze, which may not be mixed. Clean the hole with a brush and compressed air before injecting the resin, and fill it from the bottom upwards. Work with gloves and safety glasses, read the product's safety data sheet and observe the curing times given by the manufacturer before loading the fixing.
Which tools are needed for Grip+ and Prima+ anchors?
The Grip+ anchor requires its dedicated setting tool, which inserts and expands it correctly in the hole. The Prima+ metal expansion anchor with screw is designed for fixings in different materials. In both cases the hole must be drilled to the diameter and depth specified by the manufacturer, and the anchor must be inserted fully before tightening the screw.
Which SPIT drywall screws should I use to fix boards to the frame?
Black phosphated drywall screws are used to fix boards to the supporting frame. The version on steel strip is designed for automatic screwdriving, which is more practical on long runs. To choose the length, consider the board thickness plus the depth needed in the frame, and follow the manufacturer's instructions for the screw spacing.
Which A4 stainless steel SPIT anchors are suitable for damp environments?
A4 steel is a stainless steel, chosen for outdoor, damp or aggressive environments. The collection includes Tapcon Xtrem screws in the A4 version, for example with HFL and CSK heads, and the Grip+ anchor in A4. For stainless steel too, the datasheet is what counts, because resistance depends on the material grade and the installation environment.
