What it is

The DeWalt Black & Gold bit, code DT20610-QZ, is fitted with a 6.35 mm (1/4'') hex shank and is designed for use with impact drivers. With a working diameter of 7 mm, it is suited to larger holes, keeping the distinctive black & gold finish and a profile designed for a firm coupling with the tool holder.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
