SDS-plus Extreme bit 12x260x200mm DeWalt DT9554-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT9554-QZ is a 12 mm diameter SDS-Plus Extreme bit designed for hammer drilling in concrete. The twin flutes, two-cutting-edge head and reinforced core promote fast dust removal and stable drilling, while the SDS-Plus shank makes it compatible with rotary hammers fitted with an SDS-Plus chuck. With a working length of 210 mm, it can reach greater depths in the sturdier diameters.

A masonry bit is a carbide-tipped bit for drilling concrete, brick and stone with a hammer drill or rotary hammer.

Used for drilling reinforced concrete, in hammer or rotary hammer mode and for drilling solid and hollow masonry, clay brick and blocks.

How to use it

Choose the machine's shank type (straight, SDS-Plus or SDS-Max) and the diameter required by the wall plug. Start the hole at low speed, then engage hammer action, holding the bit square to the surface and without forcing, withdrawing it frequently to clear the dust. Clean the dust out of the hole before inserting the plug.
