What it is
The DeWalt DT9597-QZ is a 20 mm diameter SDS-Plus Extreme bit with a working length of 150 mm, developed for drilling concrete with rotary hammers fitted with an SDS-Plus chuck. The carbide-tooth head ensures wear resistance and consistent cutting in abrasive masonry substrates, while the SDS-Plus shank allows quick attachment and effective transmission of the hammering action. The generous diameter makes it suitable for large-section holes.
A masonry bit is a carbide-tipped bit for drilling concrete, brick and stone with a hammer drill or rotary hammer.
What it is for
Used for drilling reinforced concrete, in hammer or rotary hammer mode and for drilling solid and hollow masonry, clay brick and blocks.
How to use it
Choose the machine's shank type (straight, SDS-Plus or SDS-Max) and the diameter required by the wall plug. Start the hole at low speed, then engage hammer action, holding the bit square to the surface and without forcing, withdrawing it frequently to clear the dust. Clean the dust out of the hole before inserting the plug.
