Surface conditioning flap discs Fervi SCD125/VF

What it is

Fervi SCD125/VF surface conditioning flap discs have a diameter of Ø 125 mm and combine the flap configuration with surface conditioning non-woven material in the VF (very fine) grade, the gentlest in the series. They are designed for fine finishing and even satin finishing of metal surfaces, when the aim is to improve the appearance of the workpiece without affecting the material. The flap structure ensures soft, flexible contact, suitable even for shaped surfaces, and the Ø 125 mm size fits common angle grinders.

A flap disc is an abrasive made of overlapping cloth flaps, on a disc for angle grinders or on a shank for straight grinders, that roughs down and finishes metal and wood.

What it is for

Used for sanding metal, from roughing to finishing, for deburring metal after cutting and drilling and for grinding and cleaning up weld seams and burrs.

How to use it

Fit the disc on the angle grinder, or insert the shank-mounted flap wheel in the collet of the straight grinder or drill, observing the maximum speed. Work with light pressure at a slight angle, keeping the tool moving so as not to overheat or mark the workpiece. Progress from coarse to fine grits for finishing, and replace the disc when the cloth is worn down to the backing.
