A generator is a combustion-engine unit that produces electricity where there is no mains supply: building sites, emergencies and outdoor work.

What it is for

Used to power construction sites where mains supply is unavailable or insufficient and for emergency power generation when the mains supply fails.

How to use it

Position it outdoors, on level ground and away from doors and windows, as the exhaust fumes are toxic. Check the oil and fuel, start it without load and connect the loads after a few moments, without exceeding the available output. Refuel only with the engine off and cold; follow the manufacturer's running-hour intervals for servicing and oil changes.
