What it is for

Used for measuring on site and in the workshop and for marking out lines, dimensions and reference points before work begins.

How to use it

Lay the rule flat on the workpiece with the zero aligned to the reference edge and read looking straight at the scale, to avoid parallax errors. To draw a line, hold the rule steady with one hand and follow the edge with the scriber or pencil. Store it clean and flat, without bending it beyond its flexibility.
