What it is
The DeWalt DT4583-QZ Forstner bit is made for drilling wood and falls within the self-feed bits. Thanks to the characteristic Forstner geometry, it produces flat-bottomed holes with sharp edges, ideal for precise, neatly finished recesses. It is supplied in single packs.
A wood drill bit is a brad-point, auger, spade or Forstner bit that drills clean, accurate holes in solid wood, panels and chipboard.
What it is for
Used for drilling wood and panels.
How to use it
Place the centre point on the mark and start at low speed; always use large-diameter spade and Forstner bits at reduced speed. To avoid breakout, rest the workpiece on a piece of scrap wood or finish the hole from the opposite side. Use extensions for deep holes, locking them by tightening the screw firmly.
