Extreme spade bit DeWalt DT4781-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT4781-QZ Extreme spade bit is designed for drilling wood and stands out for its length of 406 mm, which makes it an extra-long version suited to deep, through holes in thick elements. Supplied as a single piece and offered in a convenient box, it makes it possible to reach spots that are difficult to access with standard-length bits.

How to use it

Place the centre point on the mark and start at low speed; always use large-diameter spade and Forstner bits at reduced speed. To avoid breakout, rest the workpiece on a piece of scrap wood or finish the hole from the opposite side. Use extensions for deep holes, locking them by tightening the screw firmly.
