Extreme spade bit DeWalt DT4785-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT4785-QZ Extreme spade bit is a wood drilling accessory in the extra-long 406 mm version. Supplied as a single piece, it is designed for deep, through holes in thick workpieces, where standard-length bits cannot reach the exit point.

A wood drill bit is a brad-point, auger, spade or Forstner bit that drills clean, accurate holes in solid wood, panels and chipboard.

What it is for

Used for drilling wood and panels.

How to use it

Place the centre point on the mark and start at low speed; always use large-diameter spade and Forstner bits at reduced speed. To avoid breakout, rest the workpiece on a piece of scrap wood or finish the hole from the opposite side. Use extensions for deep holes, locking them by tightening the screw firmly.
