Long impact socket, Fervi BI4E3L009

What it is

The Fervi BI4E3L009 long impact socket is a socket designed for use with impact drivers and impact wrenches, fitted with a 1/2" square drive. The long version makes it possible to reach recessed nuts and bolts, or those set back from the surface, where a standard socket would not reach. It is built to withstand the stresses typical of impact use.

Impact sockets are reinforced sockets for use with impact wrenches, together with extensions, universal joints and adapters that fit the tool's square drive.

What it is for

Used for repetitive screwdriving into wood, metal and plasterboard, where torque and consistency matter, for vehicle maintenance, in the workshop and on the road and for tightening nuts and bolts where torque must be accurate and repeatable.

How to use it

Choose a socket of the exact size of the nut and with the same square drive as the impact wrench, or use an adapter. Push it on until the detent ball or retaining ring clicks home, adding an extension or universal joint only if needed to reach the nut. On impact tools, use only impact-rated sockets and accessories, as chrome hand sockets can shatter. Discard sockets with a worn-oval or cracked opening.
