What it is

Emergency kit with universal absorbents, for liquids of various kinds, to keep in the cab of vehicles carrying dangerous goods. The format is designed to fit in the cab and the contents follow the safety rules for the transport of hazardous substances. The versions range from 21 to 76 litres of absorption: nylon bag with shoulder strap and PVC window of 21 or 25 litres, shockproof PPA case of 25 litres and compartmented polyester holdall of 76 litres.

Industrial absorbents are pads, rolls, pillows, booms and kits that soak up spills of oil, chemicals or water and stop them spreading.

What it is for

Used for workplace safety, as equipment required by the safety plan and for moving materials around the site and the warehouse.

How to use it

Choose the absorbent for the liquid (oil-only, chemical or universal) and keep a spill kit ready near high-risk points. In the event of a spill, put on PPE, surround the spill with booms, cover the drain and lay pads and pillows from the outside towards the centre. Collect used absorbents in closed containers and dispose of them as waste according to the substance absorbed.

Safe use

Check at the start of every journey that the kit is intact and within reach in the cab. After use, dispose of the absorbents as waste according to the waste code of the liquid collected and replace the kit.
