Extra-long-series cylindrical twist drill bit Fervi P023/04.50L1

What it is

The Fervi P023/04.50L1 straight-shank twist drill bit belongs to the extra-long series of cutting tools. Made of steel with a Ø 4.50 mm diameter, it has a 135° point angle and a hardness of 770-830 HV, characteristics that define its behaviour when drilling and its wear resistance. The straight shank allows it to be clamped in standard drill chucks.

What it is for

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
