Extra-long-series cylindrical twist drill bit Fervi P023/10.00L1

What it is

The Fervi P023/10.00L1 straight-shank twist drill bit belongs to the extra-long series and is designed for drilling metal with an increased usable length. The Ø 10 mm diameter, the 135° point angle and the hardness of 770÷830 HV ensure stable centring and a uniform cut. With a length of about 20 times the diameter, it can work past the bulk of structures and components while keeping the hole straight.

A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
