Extra-long-series cylindrical twist drill bit Fervi P023/12.50L2

What it is

Fervi P023/12.50L2 straight-shank twist drill bit from the extra-long series, made for deep drilling in metals. The diameter of Ø 12.5 mm, the 135° point angle and the hardness of 770÷830 HV ensure precise centring and a smooth cut even on thick sections. The length, about 20 times the diameter, makes it possible to clear the bulk of the workpiece or fixtures while keeping the hole on its axis.

A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
