What it is
Wide selfeed bits Milwaukee. Key specifications: diameter (mm) 76, pack (pcs) 1, connection ⁷⁄₁₆″ hex.
The self-feed bit, or self-drilling bit, has a centring screw that pulls it into the wood and wide cutting edges: it is used to drill large holes quickly in solid timber and beams.
What it is for
Used for drilling wood and panels.
How to use it
Use it with a powerful low-speed drill, held with both hands and preferably with the side handle, as it can bind suddenly. Place the screw tip on the mark and let the bit feed in on its own, without pushing. Withdraw it often to clear the chips and slow down at the end of the hole to avoid splintering. Check that there are no nails in the wood.
