Extra-long-series cylindrical twist drill bit Fervi P023/12.00L3

What it is

The Fervi P023/12.00L3 is an extra-long series straight-shank twist drill bit, designed for deep hole drilling in metal. With a diameter of Ø 12 mm, a point angle of 135° and a hardness of 770÷830 HV, it offers precise centring and smooth cutting at great depths. Its particularly long length, roughly 30 times the diameter, makes it suitable when deep points need to be reached or obstacles in front of the workpiece cleared.

A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
