Extra-long-series cylindrical twist drill bit Fervi P023/12.50L3

What it is

The Fervi P023/12.50L3 extra-long-series straight-shank twist drill bit is a drilling tool designed for work that requires considerable penetration depth. With a diameter of Ø 12.5 mm and a length of about 30 times the diameter, it can reach difficult points while maintaining hole accuracy. The 135° point angle promotes an immediate start on the material and reduces walking, while the hardness between 770 and 830 HV ensures good edge retention over time.

A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
